Like the famous Inktober, each year I join a challenge called Dintober. The concept is to create an environment in one month. It's my third participation, and it's a way for me to see each year how far I upgraded my skills.
We can do anything we want for the Dintober, and this year, I fell in love with a Ghost of Tshushima's concept from Romain Jouandeau.
The project was made with UE5 with Lumen lighting which helped me a lot as the concept has a really strong mood.
It's really important for me that my work feels alive, and this time I used Embergen and Niagara for the environmental FX.
This was also the first time I used Blender for modeling, and it was a cool experience.
All the scene is realtime, rendered inside UE5 and created during my sparetime. There is no textures above 2K. The landscape & mountains were made with Houdini. The trees were made on SpeedTree & the materials on substance designer. All manmade assets were created on blender and rocks & foliage are Megascans assets.
I want to thanks all the Dinusty Empire community as it's a real pleasure to create stuff along with them, get feedbacks from awesome artists, and see everyone's work evolve.
